What is TBRI?

TBRI® (Trust-Based Relational Intervention®), developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU, is a research-based approach to caring for children. It equips caregivers to meet physical and emotional needs while building trust, safety, and lasting connection.

Who can use TBRI?

TBRI® is for anyone who cares for kids. Whether you’re a caregiver, coach, grandparent, or neighbor, if you’re willing to lead with compassion and connection, you can use TBRI®.


What qualifications do you have to teach TBRI?

Anyone can learn and use TBRI® tools in their everyday life. A practitioner is someone who has gone through specialized training through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development and is equipped to teach, guide, and support others in using TBRI®.
